I would love to tour the restaurants in Italy to learn how to cook from the most acclaimed chefs. Instead, I traveled around the city of Cincinnati to find a restaurant to work at. Olive Garden, J. Alexander's, and Outback Steakhouse to name a few. The interviews seem promising and I wait anxiously to find out how it goes.
Working does not appeal to me. I would rather stay home with my one and two year old children. They are so handsome and sweet. However, learning how to cook is an absolute necessary, for frozen pizzas are a ways away compared to fresh-baked meals. Cooking classes cost money and imitating recipes from the Food Network are not cutting it. I need to get my feet wet in a real kitchen and learn the ropes. Fast!
I have served at BB Riverboats, The Phoenix and Mejana Restaurant until 2004, so my experience is a bit dusty. I want real, gritty, American cuisine and the experience to launch in my kitchen. From banquet serving to cocktail hustling, I have what it takes to do it again.
Close your eyes and imagine yourself in the streets of Italy, infusing yourself with the smells and sounds of the romantic cities, that whisper the names of saints and historical conquests. Steamy espresso, fresh-baked bread and endless pasta dishes are just within reach. I will send you a post card!
